We're nearly there. We're starting to see light at the end of this lockdown tunnel!
It has been a tough couple of months for everybody but especially for the women and families living in crisis accommodation and for our front line workers who have continued to turn up everyday and support their clients.
As we near the end, we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all our supporters who have stood by us throughout this Sydney lockdown. Whether you're a donor, fundraiser or volunteer, thank you for being apart of the WAGEC community and for continuing to turn up for women and families in crisis.
A big thank you to Deb Pluym and the Everyone Can Sing community, St Stylianos Greek Orthodox Church, Gymea, Nasser and the Team from Surry Hills Chemist Warehouse, Diva Charity, Choice, the Run for Good Project and all our volunteers. With your help we’ve been able to provide toiletries, food, furniture and other essential items to women and children through this time.
To finish, a special thank you to all volunteer ACCESS mentors who have continued to support their mentees throughout this time. This is what one mentee fed-back to our teams last week.
"Having an ACCESS mentor has been a safety net – a bit of a buffer – during COVID. The message of the whole program is ‘caring’ – a feeling that the community still cares."
