This month we want to give a massive shout out to Sansi Iyer who has been volunteering at our Redfern Central Support Office for the last 8 months. Sansi has played a huge role supporting our back office team with things like organising donations and staying on top of data entry.
Sansi always brings her upbeat enthusiasm into the office with her and has made a difference through supporting our CEO, Client Services Managers, Fundraising Coordinator and Admin Coordinator.
Sansi is now off to study in the United States for the next six months and we wish her all the best in this new and exciting chapter! Before she left we asked her to share why she felt inspired to volunteer at WAGEC and what the experience meant to her:
"What inspired me to support WAGEC was my desire to understand how organisations assist women and families that are subject to violence in a variety of ways. I loved the diverse and kind peers whom I was lucky to work with during my time at WAGEC. They are highly dedicated, determined and extremely passionate to achieve the overall aim of the organisation! I felt that they created a supportive and safe environment for all!
Domestic and family violence is a major issue within Australia and supporting WAGEC through not only administration activities, but also attending and contributing to fundraisers have allowed me to understand the amount of work and dedication it takes to help these individuals. Everyone can do there part in helping create safer lives for women and children in Australia!"
