Walk for WAGEC

Walk for WAGEC is on!

Walk for WAGEC is a 5km walk or 10km run in Centennial Park, Sydney on Sunday, 2nd May, 2021. The in-person event is limited to 200 people, so get in quickly. The Walk can also be done virtually, so if you can’t make it to Centennial Park you can walk anytime between Monday 26th April and Sunday 2nd May to help women walk away from violence. Our goal is to raise $100,000, which will give women, families and communities the tools they need to walk away from violence and build safe futures. By asking your community to donate, you can help us reach our target.

One woman is killed each week in Australia at the hands of her current or former partner. Gender-based violence takes a profound toll on women, children and communities. It impacts all of us. This is why we have taken active steps to create programs that build financial independence, nurture healing and well-being, enrich children’s development and prevent violence from happening in the first place. To operate these programs we rely on community and philanthropic donations. That’s why we need you to walk. By walking for WAGEC, you will be giving women and families what they need to walk away from violence and create safe futures.

We can’t wait to take the first step together, so that women and their children can walk away from violence this Mother’s Day.
