Donating goods, gift cards or specific items can provide practical support, comfort and choice for women, children and families experiencing homelessness or rebuilding after domestic and family violence.
But needs change regularly, and storage space across our services is strictly limited. To make sure every item can be put to good use, WAGEC only accepts material goods from workplaces, community organisations, schools or universities.
By filling our Material Goods form, we can process your request and ensure it goes straight to use by a family in need.
You could also join our Donations Collective, where you will receive regular updates outlining what is currently needed, what condition items should be in and how to arrange delivery.
Our team will review, and if accepted, will confirm delivery instructions.

Each update will explain the items we are collecting, whether they must be new, and any size, quantity, or delivery requirements.
The items we can accept depend largely on the current needs of the people we are supporting and the storage available across our sites.
Requested goods may include:
Unless an item has been specifically requested by the Donations Collective, WAGEC cannot accept:
These limits help us manage storage, safety and the differing needs of the women, children and families we support.
Please do not leave donations at a WAGEC office or site without an appointment. Unrequested goods may need to be turned away.

We know it’s tempting to bring donations straight to us, but please don’t drop items off without arranging it first. Because storage space is limited and our clients’ needs change all the time, we only accept items we’ve specifically requested. Joining the Donations Collective is the best way to find out what’s needed and how to donate.
We are incredibly grateful for every offer of support. However, the reality is that what women, children and families need can change from week to week, and our storage space is limited. Accepting requested items helps us make sure every donation reaches someone who needs it as quickly as possible.
Unfortunately no, WAGEC cannot accept clothing of any kind, including adult or children’s clothing, underwear, bras, and shoes. We know these items are often donated with care, but limited storage and the specific needs of the people we support mean we are unable to receive or distribute them.
Another local charity, community organisation or op shop may be able to put good-quality clothing to use, so it is worth checking with them before dropping anything off.
We don’t usually accept furniture because we don’t have the space or capacity to safely store or transport large items. If we are ever looking for specific furniture through the Donations Collective, we will let our supporters know.
If you’re unsure whether an item is suitable, we’d love to hear from you before making the trip. Please fill in our Material Goods form and our team can let you know whether we have a current need or suggest another way you can support women and families through WAGEC.
Gift cards give women and families greater choice over what they need, whether that is groceries, clothing, school supplies, or something meaningful for a birthday or festive celebration.
